Ed Parsons - Google's geography evangelist joins Digital Earth line up
For those who have 'grown up digital', a central piece of the digital landscape has been information provided by Google.
So we're pretty excited to announce that Google Geospatial Technologist Ed Parsons is the latest addition to the Digital Earth Keynote line up, and he brings with him a wealth of technical experience.
Ed has been on board with Google since 2007, and the Google team has long been at the forefront of providing easy online access to geographical information through the development of Google earth and Google maps.
Prior to this, Ed was the first Chief Technology Officer for Britain’s ordnance survey – the first ever in the 200-year-old history of the organization. He was instrumental in moving the focus of Ordnance Survey from mapping to Geographical Information.
Ed will be bringing his in-depth understanding of location based information and technology to the ‘growing up digital’ theme of the summit.
Ed is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and is the author of numerous articles, professional papers and presentations to International Conferences and he developed one of first weblogs in the Geospatial Industry at www.edparsons.com
